Bilingual patients
One site for English and Arabic speaking patients in the UAE
A common pattern we see is an English site plus an Arabic version that nobody has touched since launch. Patients notice when the Arabic page lists a doctor who left last year.
HMS FMCE, a Dubai rehabilitation and physiotherapy practice, had exactly that audience: patients who read English and Arabic. They needed one site that served both properly, rather than two half maintained ones. The answer is a single CMS where every page, doctor and service exists in both languages side by side, so an update is made once and checked in both.
- Right to left layout designed, not mirrored by a plugin
- Arabic typography chosen for medical terms and small screens
- Forms, validation messages and booking steps translated too
- Separate Arabic URLs so each language can be found in search
