Cheap shared hosting puts your site on a server with many others, so a busy neighbour can slow you down. Managed WordPress hosting usually includes caching, backups and staging, which saves effort for a small team.
A private copy of the site where updates and new pages are tested first. Without one, every plugin update is tried directly on the live site your customers are using.
